c1896 Study of Pansies Yard Long Print Grace Barton Allen
|
Description: c1896 Uncut pansies yardlong print Study of Pansies by Grace Barton Allen. Wide margin areas are intact. Made by the Art Interchange Company of New York, numbered No. 333. The lithographer was the Wm. A. Oertel Company of New York. This piece is a chromolithograph, and the color layers align in perfect register. It's just beautiful, with a ribboned nosegay of pansies at the center, flanked by a clear vase of pansies, and oodles of more pansies at either side. In Victorian times, the little pansy symbolized that someone was Thinking of You. Indeed, their little Heartsease happy face is so very precious.
The print is housed in a gold painted wood frame with burnished brass corner embellishments. Both frame and print are in VG condition. See the closeup photos for the best color represenation. Overall size is 12 x 38.25 inches. Perfect over doorways, kitchen nooks, in the bedroom, and more! A wonderful gift item for Mother's Day.
